So anyways. I am so stinking behind because I have barely been able to glance at a computer screen lately, let alone focus on anything. I have a lot of picture posts, sponsor features, and tutorials coming up. Things should hopefully be getting back to normal now.
With that I want to introduce my readers to the first sponsor I had sign up. Brent, the founder of War Eagle Rings, also offered to give one lucky person their choice state quarter ring! If you haven't seen his Etsy shop you should definitely check it out! He takes US and foreign coins and turns them into rings. But the coolest part is that in the ring form you can still make out all the engravings that were originally on the coin! They make such awesome gifts. I really think a great anniversary gift would be to get state quarter rings from the states you and your spouse are from. I'm definitely sending one to G.I. Joe when he leaves!
Another thing I love is that Brent served in the Active Duty Army before going on to be a stay-at-home-dad. Here is a bit about him in his own words:
"My life in a nutshell....
I am from Columbus Indiana and I have loved Art all of my life. I took every Art class I could while in high school. I joined the Army after graduation. I was part of the only Active Duty mortuary affairs unit in the U.S. Armed Forces at the time. I got out of the Army in late 1995. I messed around with crafts for sometime, but never found anything I liked or wanted to do full time.
About a year ago my sister asked me to make a ring out of a spoon. As I was researching the spoons rings I found a guy that made coin rings. I studied his work and asked a few questions and he gave me a little help. Not anything more then what can be found on the internet.I had to learn to make the rings by trial and error, using only hand tools and muscle....lots of muscle on the larger rings. I am still learning as each coin is different and unique as each person I make the ring for.I have made rings from dimes, quarters half dollars and just about everything in between in the size of 0 up to a big boys size 16."
