Surely there are more of us.

Fall is in full swing around here and that has me thinking. Everywhere I look online people are posting status updates about Pumpkin Spice Lattes or doing blog posts with pumpkin bread, cakes, pies, cheesecakes, cupcakes, ice cream cakes...haha okay maybe not pumpkin ice cream cakes but you get the idea. G.I. Joe loves anything with pumpkin so every fall I try to make him some type of pumpkin treat.

But am I the only person out there who does not like to eat, drink or smell pumpkin???
I love making that stuff for the soldier because of how excited he gets but even just the smell of it (in any edible form) turns my stomach. I'm hoping that I might not be the only one of this kind left in the world :) I am really thankful though for all the recipes people post. Soon I need to pick out something unique to bake G.I. Joe. Last year for Thanksgiving I made him a Pumpkin Cheesecake. I totally gagged because of just about every single ingredient in it. Then we took it to my grandma's house for dinner and definitely left the whole thing there. I can't even remember if he ended up being able to try a piece or not! I felt so bad that in our rush we forgot it and even told him I'd make him a new one, but he knows the effect pumpkin has on me and just bought a pumpkin spiced latte instead.

So do you have any favorite (or least favorite) fall smells? My favorite has to be cinnamon! I get intoxicated when I walk into grocery stores this time of year because many of them around here sell those cinnamon brooms right by the door!

As much as I love fall, I miss the heat and humidity. Especially Florida heat! The kind that just begs you to splash in the nearest fountain.

And for all you Milies out there don't forget to join in the Weekly Round-Up that's hosted by my awesome friend Katie!

I'm a lover of all things pumpkin, but it's ok that you aren't -- more for me! ;) I do love cinnamon more, and I share your love of cinnamon brooms in grocery stores. If I didn't think my dogs would eat one, I'd have one in my house already.

And sorry, I also don't miss the heat and humidity! I HATE heat and humidity. Growing up in So Cal, both things are pretty foreign to me... my last two summers in Georgia have been absolutely miserable for me. I'd gladly have fall/winter year round if it were possible. Trade? ;)

I cannot stand pumpkin either! I used to like pumpkin pie, but then one year I just couldn't eat it! It doesn't have the same effect on me as it does you, but I assure you...you are not alone :)

I do looooove apple cinnamon...not sure if that's a "fall" flavor, but my mouth waters every time I smell it.

Enjoy the first few weeks of fall before it gets too cold :)

I don't like pumpkin either!!! Well I liked the pumpkin cookies I made, but the lattes and pie and all that other stuff, not my thing! I am a fan of the cinnamon, caramels, and apples for sure though!

I'm not a huge pumpkin fan- but I don't mind it. I like pumpkin roll but not pie. My favorite scent is apple and crisp air...the air in the Fall just smells different.

I can't say that I like the taste of most pumpkin-y things, but I don't mind the smell. Especially when mixed with other fall smells. Like apple and such.

I think some people who post things about pumpkin don't realize that there are many spiced things that resemble pumpkin but are not.

I really love the smell of juniper or pine tree in the winter time, or eucalyptus in the summer.

I like fall (except the cool weather) and I definitely miss the Florida heat!

I love cinnamon, vanilla, spice, and yes, pumpkin smell. :) I only like pumpkin in some things. I don't like pumpkin pie. But I am about to make more pumpkin cupcakes this afternoon. So yeah, I'm excited. :) I'll post the recipe soon, too.

You are definitely not alone.. I can't stand pumpkins or the smell that comes along with them. Fortunately, Jay doesn't like them either, so they're easily avoidable in our life. :)

Dirt Diver is right there with you in regards to pumpkin. He can't stand it with a passion. There was one Thanksgiving I made pumpkin pie (because I ADORE the yummy stuff), I fed it to Monkey and Dirt Diver refused to talk to me saying I was poisoning our son. LOL

It seems that I am the opposite of you! I love anything and everything pumpkin, but HATE cinnamon! Just as pumpkin makes your stomach turn, cinnamon makes mine. I don't know what it is about it, but I just can't stand it. When I'm in a store and I smell cinnamon I run away from it as fast as I can!

Oh, J'adore le pumpkin!

I don't like lattes in general though, and I don't think I've ever had pumpkin bread. We don't really cook with it. And I HATE pumpkin pie! I love decorating with pumpkins and burning yankee candles but I prefer autmn leaves and harvest wreath scents.

I think I maybe tried pumpkin bread for the first time ever this year. I like the idea of pumpkins. Now that I think of it, I don't think I adore pumpkins as much as I thought :( Maybe just as a table accesory and for carving :)

Idk how I feel about pumpkin. I mean, in San Diego I had a pumpkin spice latte from starbucks that was pretty awesome, and I had a spiced pumpkin latte from 7eleven which tasted like hot water and pumpkin flavoring and cinnamon. Yuck. But hey, I was freezing, and it was better than a kick in the *ahem*. But my mom totally ruined pumpkin pie for me. She would make me make her a pumpkin pie every week for 8 months. So I asked why, she said "I use pumpkin pie as a laxative. It makes me go poop!". I could never look at a pumpkin pie the same way ever again. I can't even bring myself to bake another pie, and when its in the fridge, I hide it. I can't eat it. The texture of it in my mouth and hearing my moms quote on loop in my head has me imagine having poop in my mouth. So sorry if I seem wierd, im just kinda scarred for life LOL.

Well, I really do like the pumpkin spiced latte.. BUT, Pumpkin PIE or PUMPKIN COOKIES. or plain ol' pumpkin!! NO THANK YOU! Hahha. I am even thinking of NEVER ever carving a pumpkin ever again!! haa

Okay, I do love pumpkin, but you had me at cinnamon. I get bored of the pumpkin in about a nano-second and those cinnamon doused pinecones make me absolutely nutty. Smells are a powerful part of memories - I just blogged about that this morning!

I'm kind of indifferent to pumpkin. I'll eat it if it's there, but it's not something I crave. I think my favorite thing about fall isn't a smell or a food, but that slight chill in the air when you know for sure that summer is over. I hate weather extremes, but I love the beginning of fall and spring when you know the weather is changing.

Hi! I haven't visited your blog in a while but saw you tweeting on Twitter and thought I'd stop by!

I have to say, fall is my favorite time of year and I too love that cinnamon smell that seems to be everywhere right now. You are an AWESOME wife to make sweet pumpkin stuff for your hubby that actually makes you gag! Ha, ha! He is truly blessed. :o)
